چکیده
1337 although the scientific evidence is inconclusive. Problems associated with prophylactic antibiotics include selection of more resistant organisms, the development of resistant bacteria, allergic reactions, and expense. Most surgeons who give preoperative antibiotics use a broad-spectrum, relatively nonsensitizing drug for 1–3 days before surgery. The most common source of endophthalmitis is the patient’s periocular flora. Careful attention to the management and elimination of blepharitis preoperatively is important. Likewise, preoperative lid preparation is important, with special attention given to removing any residual lid margin debris. The lashes should be fully covered with adherent drapes to isolate them from the operative field. In addition, a single application of one drop of 5% povidoneiodine solution on the ocular surface, at the time of the surgical preparation, has been shown to reduce significantly the incidence of endophthalmitis. The solution should be irrigated from the eye before making any incisions to avoid possible intraocular toxicity.

Modified femtosecond laser-assisted sutureless anterior lamellar keratoplasty.
A variation of the femtosecond laser-assisted sutureless anterior lamellar keratoplasty technique using a femtosecond laser incision for surgical management of anterior corneal disease is described. Six patients with corneal scars were treated with the laser to create a horizontal lamellar bed interface in the cornea of the donor and recipient eyes, with a manual partial-thickness vertical trep...

Purpose: To evaluate study of corneal the frequency of re-graft during 5 years at Khalili hospital, Shiraz. Methods: In this retrospective observational study, all corneal re-grafts during 5 years (2009-2014) were assessed at Khalili Hospital, Shiraz. Demographic data of 76 cases, out of total of 1 190 transplants, were retrieved, including age, area of residence, primary disease, type of graft...
متن کاملCorneal Donor Tissue Preparation for Endothelial Keratoplasty
Over the past ten years, corneal transplantation surgical techniques have undergone revolutionary changes. Since its inception, traditional full thickness corneal transplantation has been the treatment to restore sight in those limited by corneal disease. Some disadvantages to this approach include a high degree of post-operative astigmatism, lack of predictable refractive outcome, and disturba...

The survival of donor corneal epithelium was investigated in rabbits after they received unilateral 8 mm diameter lamellar keratoplasties with living donor tissue of a different sex from the host. Three weeks, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks postoperatively, cultured corneal epithelia, grown from 5 mm diameter central buttons, the adjacent 0.75 mm wide donor rings, the peripheral 10 to 13 mm diameter rin...

متن کاملImpact of donor graft quality on deep anterior lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK)
BACKGROUND To evaluate main features of donor tissue that may influence clinical outcome or complication rate after deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK). METHODS Donor tissue parameters of 84 consecutive corneal donor grafts used for big-bubble DALK surgery between June 2011 and December 2014 in 84 eyes of 84 patients with disorders of anterior corneal stroma were correlated to clinical...
